Tablets and the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show

In just one more day the doors will close on the 2011 Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas. In 2010 e-readers and tablets dominated the show with dozens of examples ranging from the Skiff news reader to the HP Slate and a plethora of no-name knockoffs from little know Asian design and manufacturing houses. Within months the majority faded away under pressure from the iPad, Kindle, and the Nook. In fact the HP Slate 500 would take another 10 months before it would ship to consumers. Echoing 2010 seemingly every booth in the Central and South Halls vied for attendee attention with some new tablet.
